Established in 1970, the University of Ulsan has grown to be the epicenter of education, research, and industry-academia cooperation in Asia with a purpose of producing future leaders.

Currently, there are 15,000 students enrolled and 1,770 professors teaching across 6 graduate schools and 9 colleges in the field of engineering, medicine, business administration, natural sciences, design & architecture, humanities, social sciences, human ecology and arts. Our students are striving to continue the spirit of ‘Challenging and Pioneering’ that Chung Ju-Young, the founder of the Hyundai Group and the University of Ulsan, had emphasized.

Through strategic industry-academia cooperation with multi-national corporations such as Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Motors, SK Energy and S-oil and global exchange programs with 180 academic institutions in 40 different countries, the University is setting the standard in fostering future world-class leaders with global excellence in various disciplines.

The revolutionary education system has made it possible to turn out many excellent alumni. Graduates of the University now occupy 4 national assembly positions and many prominent business roles. Mr. Ki-Chool Park, the Chairman of World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Association is just one example. According to a study examining the number of executives of top 10 Korean companies by alumni, the University of Ulsan has been ranked 12 among other prestigious universities.

Our globally accredited engineering program and state-of-the-art medical program are among the best in Korea, and Times Higher Education has ranked the University of Ulsan 10th in Korea and 52nd in Asia.
