Why Learn Korean from Yonsei University
Yonsei University is one of the top universities in South Korea. It is also one of the top 100 universities in the world, according to QS World University Ranking. Every year international students from various countries are taking Korean language program at Yonsei University, both online or on campus. There are around 1,600 people from 60 countries taking the regular Korean program on campus each year.

There are many kinds of Korean Language Programs offered at Yonsei Korean Language Institute. The majority of students are taking its 6 level Regular Course. To complete all the levels from level 1 to 6, it takes approximately one and a half years. But you can choose to do a few levels only. For more information, check their website here.

What You Will Learn in the Online Program:
Week 1 (4 hours): Korean Alphabet
Week 2 (3 hours): Greetings and Introducing
Week 3 (4 hours): Family
Week 4 (3 hours): Time and Date
Week 5 (4 hours): Daily Life
The lesson is in the format of videos, readings and quizzes. You will learn all aspects of the language: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
It takes approximately 18 hours to complete. You can study at your own time. The deadline for the quizzes is also flexible.
About the Instructor of the Online Program:
Seung Hae Kang is an Associate Professor in charge of Korean Education as a Foreign Language department at the Graduate School of Education at Yonsei University since 2007. She currently teaches Korean Education as a Foreign/Second Language courses, Teaching Methods of Korean Language, Class management in teaching Korean, as well as other courses.
Seung Hae Kang has been teaching Korean Language as a Senior Lecturer for many years at the Korean Language Institute(KLI) of Yonsei University.
She also worked as the Director of Yonsei Language Institute in LA, USA.
She received her BA and MA degrees in Education from Yonsei University in 1984 and 1986, and Ed. D. degree in Korean Language Education from Yonsei University in 1996 as well.
She started to teach Korean language at KLI of Yonsei University as an instructor in 1985. She also taught Korean Language at the University of Sheffield in England in 1990-1991, as well as at the Language Institute of Seoul National University, the best university in South Korea in 1999.
